“... for all the restless photons that keep on bumping and carousing unbeknownst, not yet certain they can follow other jagged routes across irradiated furnace suns, not yet convinced they can settle unto timid pattern or undulating certitude, on this watery iris or that curved camera eye, for are we the ones who can invite them over here or trace a tremulous shape of waveform palmistry into distant sands of time?

What happens to all the places that didn’t get swallowed by the flood, to all the heat trap cities that did not bake or go under, all of them former villages that await their drowned worlds, abodes for all those landlocked upright walking tetrapods, banished from the waters that spewed them, making a living swimming the dry lands on the bottom of gassy oceans, suntanned with moist expectation of promised storms...

What happens to all those beasts of burden, the gigantic catfish that still carry the weight of the land, their flocks of trains, their herds of cars, the mountains of plentiful goods and busy travelers scurrying on their broad backs, carried across murky portentous voids, loosening a scale here, half a city there...

... its elegant tail unleashing furious sunken discord, daring and horrendous awakenings under raw familiar hides, treacherous skins turned inside out, gently raising dust devils of dead skin cells sky high, birth marks gone bad willing to drown your innards, raising hell over placid inner lakes of complex replicating waters.”
